- Remove the dead bodies;
- Look for other survivors/fatalities;
- Rescue any trapped survivors;
- Treat those with injuries and get them to hospital; and
- Counsel the survivors.
You must involve the emergency services that can help you and your first aid team do this.

 These are the three emergency services you must involve when you have deadly workplace accidents

You must call on the SAPS dog unit. The SAPS dog unit can help you locate any survivors trapped under the accident rubble.
Call the paramedics. Your first aiders can only do so much when a serious workplace accident hurts a lot of your employees. That’s why when you have a deadly workplace accident you must call the paramedics.
Call on the fire department rescue services. The fire department has the equipment that’ll help you rescue survivors or remove dead bodies from an accident site. You may not be able to do this on your own so you need their expertise, training and equipment.
