Think of all the things you need to run your company with today. Internet, phones, machinery and electricity all form an important part of what you do. Electricity is probably the most important of all because you just can’t do anything without it.

But electricity is also incredibly dangerous. Its ability to run everything in your workplace is the very thing that could kill your employees.

That’s why you must ensure you protect your employees from these three electrical disasters...

It’s your duty to protect your employees from these three electrical disasters

#1: Electricity on wet surfaces
Let’s say, your employees work with water a lot. If they also use a lot of extension cables of other electrical cords, it could turn into a huge electrical disaster.
If any electrical cable comes into contact with water on the floor, it’ll create an electrical current through it. If one of your employees walks through this, he’ll suffer a massive electrical shock and could die.
Ensure your employees don’t leave cables lying around and keep the floor dry to prevent this.

Do your employees know about the different fire equipment?
If a fire breaks out in your building, would your employees know what to do or how to use the fire extinguisher?
#2: Electrical fires
Poor electrical circuits are one of the biggest causes of fires. They overheat your electrical system, spark and, next thing you know, there’s a massive blaze in your workplace. This puts all of your employees in serious danger.
You must protect your employees from this by maintaining your electrical system regularly.
#3: Electrified machinery
If your machinery is damaged or old, its electrical system may be too. This means your machinery could become an electrically charged death trap. All it’ll take is your employee touching the machinery and he could die.
Maintain your machinery to protect your employees from this danger.
These are just three of the most common electrical disasters that could claim the lives of your employees. Ensure you look after all your electrical systems correctly to prevent electrical disasters from happening.
