PPE: The three letters for improved workplace safety

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) comes in different forms depending on the type of hazard. The five of the most common kinds are:
1. Hard hats;
2. Safety gloves;
3. Safety boots:
4. Safety goggles; and
5. Reflective jackets.
These pieces of safety gear can protect your employees from a variety of common workplace hazards. If you run an industrial or construction company, you should make safety wear standard.
But there are some less standard pieces of PPE you may need to use too…

Use PPE that suits your workplace hazards

The five common pieces of PPE mentioned above won’t be able to protect your employee from a fall. This is where hazard-specific PPE comes in. If your employees work at heights, they need harnesses. If they work with flammable material, they may need fire-resistant clothing.
According to the Health and Safety Advisor you need to ensure you have PPE to protect your employees from your specific workplace hazards.
It’s that simple to improve safety in your workplace, just ensure your employees wear all their PPE.
